Melania Trump Denies Claim That Barron Applied to Harvard — A School Where Even They Know Image Alone Won’t Cut It

Melania Denies Barron Applied to Harvard — While Daddy Trump Throws a Tantrum Over Elite Schools That Don’t Want Him or His Entitled Offspring

In the latest episode of the Trump soap opera — now airing on every right-wing platform desperate for clicks — former First Lady Melania Trump had to awkwardly shut down rumors that her son Barron ever applied to Harvard. That’s right: he didn’t even apply, and yet, here we are, with his father frothing at the mouth and waging war against Ivy League schools like a jealous high schooler rejected from prom.

Melania, in a statement to The Palm Beach Post, clarified that “Barron did not apply to Harvard,” slamming the swirling rumors as “completely false.” Of course, these rumors gained steam amid Trump's laughable vendetta against elite institutions — the same places he once bragged about attending (while conveniently ignoring how his daddy's money got him through the door).

Since Donald Trump's return to political chaos in January, he’s turned Ivy League universities into his personal boogeymen. In a move that can only be described as a hissy fit disguised as policy, his administration withheld $400 million from Columbia University, throwing a tantrum over student-led pro-Palestinian protests and labeling the campuses as hotbeds of antisemitism. The irony? Trump, a man who has embraced antisemitic conspiracy theorists and platforms extremists like it’s his job, wants to lecture anyone about hate speech. Spare us.

Harvard was next on the MAGA chopping block. When the university refused to buckle to Trump’s petulant list of demands — including scrapping diversity and inclusion programs (because we all know how much Trump hates inclusion) and instituting a bizarre campus-wide mask ban — the Department of Homeland Security yanked nearly $3 million in grants. Because nothing says “freedom-loving patriot” like gutting education and silencing students for not kissing your ring.

Melania’s comments about Barron, who is apparently just trying to be a college student at NYU’s Stern School of Business, came with the usual Trumpian flair for making everything about themselves. "It's very different than any other kid," Melania said, perhaps unintentionally highlighting the golden bubble of nepotism, Secret Service, and daddy’s lawsuits that Barron now floats in. “He’s very strong,” she added, which one assumes means “he’s learned to tune out his father’s daily rants on Truth Social.”

Speaking of which, Trump took to his digital crybaby megaphone to accuse Harvard of harboring “radicalized lunatics” and stonewalling his request for their foreign student list — as if McCarthyism had a tech update. “We will WIN,” he blustered, sounding like a deranged game show host who’s convinced yelling louder will change the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, X (formerly Twitter) account “Anonymous,” with over 5 million followers, put it plainly: “Trump is retaliating against Harvard for rejecting his adult son Barron Trump & for allowing students to practice their free speech to criticize Israel's genocide in Gaza.” This is textbook Trump: weaponize government power not for justice, but to soothe his bruised ego and punish anyone who dares to tell him no.

As for Barron, he’s expected to graduate from NYU in 2028. Whether he escapes his father's shadow or gets dragged into the next Trump grift remains to be seen. But one thing's for sure: no one at Harvard is losing sleep over not being part of the MAGA mess.
