Hardline MAGA Congresswoman Nancy Mace is at the center of an embarrassing scandal after former staffers revealed she ordered them to create fake social media accounts to praise her and defend her image online.

And it gets worse.

“We had to make multiple accounts, burner accounts, and go reply to comments with things that weren’t true—even on Reddit forums,” one former staffer told Wired. “We were congressional staff, and there were real things we could’ve been doing to help constituents.”

According to multiple former staffers, Mace demanded they create burner accounts across various platforms to monitor criticism and inflate her public image. Mace reportedly made her own fake accounts, too, using them to track online conversations about herself.

In a desperate effort to control the fallout, Mace’s Communications Director, Sydney Long, said such orders “would be a slap in the face to taxpayers across the country.” Yet notably, Long didn’t deny the accusations.

“The only relationship the Congresswoman cares about is her one with South Carolina. She is married to her job, and that is all the media should care about,” Long added—offering deflection rather than clarity.

The staffers also questioned Mace’s oft-repeated claim of being a "self-taught coder."

“I never saw her code a damn thing,” one said. “She just talked about tech a lot.”

If these reports are accurate—and there’s little reason to doubt them—Mace isn’t just misleading the public; she’s wasting taxpayer dollars to prop up her own ego. When she’s not manufacturing praise for herself, she’s attacking innocent transgender Americans or chasing headlines with empty stunts. Her constituents deserve better—and they should send that message at the ballot box.
