Russia brands Donald Trump a 'clown' suffering from 'dementia' in brutal attack

 

Former President Donald Trump labeled Vladimir Putin as "crazy" following Russia's continued missile and drone assaults on Ukrainian civilian targets. In response, Kremlin-aligned propaganda accounts launched a wave of online attacks against Trump, branding him a “clown” and accusing him of suffering from “dementia.”

The backlash came shortly after Trump publicly declared, “Putin has gone absolutely CRAZY!” He added, “I don’t know what’s wrong with him. What the hell happened to him?”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov dismissed Trump's comments, suggesting the former U.S. president was experiencing an “emotional overload.” Until recently, Russian state media and propaganda accounts had either toned down criticism of Trump or expressed cautiously favorable views, particularly in light of his perceived alignment with Putin on certain foreign policy issues.

But Trump’s “crazy” remarks triggered a swift and aggressive reaction from Russian propaganda bots—automated or semi-automated accounts that amplify narratives favorable to the Kremlin. Monitoring organization Botnadzor reported a sharp spike in hostile content aimed at Trump.

One troll declared, “It’s not Putin who’s gone crazy—Trump has. Seems like dementia comes standard with the U.S. presidency.” Another post sneered, “What can you expect from a clown who, instead of leading his country, just hurls threats at Russia?”

Other bot-generated comments mocked Trump for “throwing a tantrum early in the morning,” questioned his mental health, and accused him of suffering from “seasonal bipolar disorder.”

A pro-Kremlin account named Batyurkan Markushbekov wrote, “Russia should aim for success on the battlefield. We initially pursued peace, but stepping back now is out of the question.”

Another post claimed, “Trump’s just lashing out because he has no control over Russia. He thrives on ordering people around—and he can’t do that here.”
