Russian State TV Host Issues Chilling Warning to Trump
Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent pro-Kremlin media personality and staunch ally of Vladimir Putin, issued a provocative warning to former U.S. President Donald Trump, saying, "Look at the graves of those who threatened Russia." His remarks came during his nightly program on the state-run Russia 1 network in response to a post Trump made on Truth Social.
In his post, Trump wrote:
"What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!"
Solovyov, known for inflammatory rhetoric, dismissed the former president’s claims. “Trump keeps writing these things—I’m not sure why. He seems to live in an information bubble and doesn't ask basic questions,” he said. “With all due respect, it’s Trump who doesn’t understand—not Russia or its supreme commander-in-chief.”
He went on to boast about Russia’s military capability: “From the beginning, we’ve been preparing for a war against NATO. So when people talk about causing damage to us, let me remind them: we are capable of destroying the world several times over.”
Solovyov referenced Putin's chilling sentiment, stating: “Who needs the world if Russia isn’t in it?” He continued:
“There will be no surrender, no hesitation. If you want to threaten Russia, take a number—many have tried before you. Just look at their graves. Over a thousand years, Russia has dealt with many like you. Wake up.”
Zelensky Meets German Chancellor Amid Rising Russian Attacks
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Germany’s new Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin on Wednesday, as Ukraine pushes for additional military support. The meeting comes amid intensified Russian airstrikes, despite ongoing diplomatic efforts led by the United States to broker a ceasefire.
Germany remains Ukraine’s second-largest military backer after the U.S., and Merz has swiftly engaged in diplomatic initiatives since taking office three weeks ago. European leaders continue to accuse Russian President Vladimir Putin of deliberately stalling U.S.-led peace negotiations.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul is also scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington to discuss further coordination.
On Tuesday, President Zelensky expressed readiness to participate in high-level peace talks, including a potential three-way summit with himself, Putin, and Donald Trump. “We are prepared for leader-level talks. Both the U.S. and Russia are aware of this,” Zelensky said.
He added that he is open to any format—whether a single trilateral summit or separate bilateral meetings.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov acknowledged Trump’s role in the negotiations, saying Russia is “grateful” for his mediation efforts.
