The Libertarian Party of Travis County Just Torched Trump—and Called for His Impeachment
The Libertarian Party of Travis County, Texas, just dropped a political bombshell—passing a blistering resolution demanding Donald Trump’s impeachment. Their message? Trump’s authoritarian posturing and contempt for the Constitution make him unfit for office.
They didn't mince words, especially over the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an innocent U.S. resident wrongly deported and imprisoned in El Salvador. The administration calls it an "administrative error." The Libertarians call it what it is: a disgraceful failure—and one they refuse to excuse. Despite the administration’s claims that their hands are tied, the truth is clear—they just don’t care enough to fix their mess.
Trump’s version of “leadership” reads like a dictator’s playbook: threatening to exile citizens, targeting lawful residents with political opinions he doesn’t like, and treating constitutional rights like disposable nuisances. Due process? Free speech? Not on his watch.
The Libertarians slammed the administration’s lies about Garcia, who had no criminal record. Trump’s team fabricated gang ties with no evidence—because, in their world, truth is optional. Even Trump’s own wife and legal counsel objected. Still, Trump stood next to El Salvador’s president, babbling about prison expansions rather than admitting his administration can’t manage basic justice.
And let’s be clear—this isn’t just a fringe complaint. The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the government must bring Garcia back. Yet Trump’s team continues to deflect and delay, as if it’s someone else’s responsibility. Even President Bukele of El Salvador mocked the absurdity. When foreign heads of state seem more grounded than the U.S. President, we’ve got a crisis.
The Libertarians also took aim at the administration’s disturbing crackdown on dissent. Students and legal residents have faced deportation for political speech—particularly those supporting Palestinian rights. One Tufts University student was targeted without a shred of credible evidence. Trump’s team just throws around the word “terrorist” and hopes nobody asks questions.
This is a president who has already dodged two impeachments, surviving not on principle but on political cowardice. Now, even the party of individual liberty and limited government—once viewed as a potential Trump ally—is done with him.
The Travis County resolution pulls no punches. Trump swore to uphold the Constitution but has spent years stomping on civil liberties, abusing executive power, and gaslighting the country into thinking he’s above the law.
They put it plainly: “No one in the U.S. appears to be safe from President Donald J. Trump's lawless, dictatorial pronouncements.” That’s not leadership—it’s tyranny dressed in a cheap suit with a bad comb-over.
So yes, the Libertarians in Travis County are done with Trump. They've called for his impeachment—and it's about time. The only question now is whether other Libertarian chapters will join them or let the man who got booed at their national convention pretend he still has a seat at their table.
One thing’s certain: Trump's legacy of cruelty, failure, and wannabe despotism isn’t going unanswered anymore.

A person who has been deported, and re-enters the USA, is, by definition, a felon . Garcia was and is under an a removal order. He had his due process and he lost.
