Elon Musk Erupts After NYT Report Alleges Serious Drug Abuse
MAGA-aligned billionaire Elon Musk lashed out online after The New York Times published a bombshell report alleging his extensive drug use — including ketamine, Ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and Adderall. Predictably, Musk took to X to deny the claims in a defensive and erratic post, writing:
“To be clear, I am NOT taking drugs! The New York Times was lying their ass off… I tried prescription ketamine a few years ago and said so on X… It helps for getting out of dark mental holes, but haven’t taken it since then.”
The denial came off as less than convincing, especially considering the article’s detailed allegations and sources. The Times reports that Musk's drug use was far more intense than previously known, particularly during the 2020 presidential campaign. It allegedly got so severe that he admitted it was “affecting his bladder” and reportedly carried around a pill box with as many as 20 different substances.
Multiple witnesses confirmed the existence of this box, and photos were obtained by The Times. Video clips of Musk behaving erratically — with glazed eyes and disoriented expressions — have long fueled speculation about his substance use.
Perhaps most disturbing is the suggestion that Musk used his immense wealth and power to skirt accountability. As the head of SpaceX, a major federal contractor, Musk should be subject to strict anti-drug policies and random testing. Yet, insiders told The Times that Musk received “advance warning” before tests, raising serious concerns about preferential treatment.
The implications are serious. If these allegations involved a high-ranking Democrat or public official, Republicans would be demanding investigations, hearings, and likely prosecution. Congress cannot turn a blind eye. These revelations demand an immediate and thorough investigation into both Musk’s behavior and the systemic failures that may have enabled it.
No one — not even the richest man in the world — should be above the rules.
