Alyssa Farah Griffin: Elon Musk Could Destroy Trump's Agenda—and MAGA Should Be Worried
Former Trump White House aide Alyssa Farah Griffin laid out just how Elon Musk’s intervention could derail Donald Trump’s prized legislative effort—and cause a political meltdown in MAGA world.
“Elon Musk could single-handedly tank Trump’s entire legislative agenda,” she said on The View. “And if Republicans start worrying about crossing Elon instead of staying loyal to Trump, that’s devastating for his administration.”
Griffin warned that Musk’s influence isn’t just theoretical—his money talks, and it talks loud.
“For House Republicans, it’s a terrifying calculus,” she continued. “You might fear Trump’s wrath, but with the dark money system we have, Musk could pour millions into your primary and end your career.”
The implications go far beyond one bill. “The entire balance of power in the House could shift if Musk follows through and targets members who support the legislation,” Griffin added.
Musk was already the GOP’s not-so-secret weapon in 2024, spending over $250 million to help elect Republicans and put Trump back in the White House. But if he turns that same firepower against them in the midterms? It could be political carnage.
This week, Musk went scorched earth on the bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination” on X (formerly Twitter), citing its impact on the federal deficit.
“I can’t stand it anymore,” he wrote. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it—you know you did wrong.”
He slammed it for ballooning the already staggering deficit to $2.5 trillion and saddling Americans with “crushing, unsustainable debt.” Musk is now urging his followers to help “kill the bill.”
And there are real stakes. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office warns the legislation could strip health insurance from nearly 11 million Americans over the next decade. At the same time, it bloats the Pentagon budget past $1 trillion and hands out $3.7 trillion in tax cuts—most of which benefit the wealthy.
The cost? A projected $2.4 trillion spike in the deficit. The same Republicans who scream about fiscal responsibility are now silent as the bill funnels even more wealth to the already rich.
