Pam Bondi Hit with Ethics Complaint by Dozens of Legal Experts Over Alleged DOJ Misconduct

Pam Bondi, Donald Trump’s ethically compromised Attorney General, is facing serious trouble. A formal complaint has been filed with the Florida Bar accusing her of “serious professional misconduct” in her current role.

And it gets even worse for her.

A coalition of about 70 legal experts—including prominent law professors, attorneys, and former Florida Supreme Court justices Barbara J. Pariente and Peggy A. Quince—has come together to file the complaint. They allege Bondi has blatantly violated her ethical responsibilities and engaged in conduct that threatens the rule of law and the impartial administration of justice.

Specifically, the complaint accuses Bondi of pressuring Department of Justice attorneys to violate their ethical obligations under the false banner of “zealous advocacy.” On her first day in office, she reportedly sent out a memo directing DOJ lawyers to toe the political line—or face consequences. The complaint cites multiple incidents where Bondi and her top aides allegedly ordered lawyers to take actions that were ethically forbidden, threatening them with suspension, termination, or outright firing if they refused.

According to the complaint, Bondi demanded DOJ attorneys "zealously pursue the President’s political objectives,” regardless of legal or ethical boundaries. In doing so, she shattered longstanding norms designed to protect the Justice Department’s nonpartisan integrity—and violated Florida Bar rules in the process.

The group also criticized the Florida Bar for previously dismissing two ethics complaints against Bondi, arguing that its refusal to act was “unsupported by history or precedent.” They contend that a Florida-licensed attorney cannot use a federal appointment as a shield from accountability when abusing their power.

Bondi, during her confirmation hearing, promised to end the so-called “weaponization” of the Justice Department. Instead, she embraced the MAGA playbook, accusing Democrats of the very abuses she’s now carrying out herself.

Under Bondi’s leadership, the Justice Department has devolved into a partisan enforcement arm of the far-right. She’s not upholding the law—she’s weaponizing it to serve Trump’s political interests and boost her own ambitions.

Pam Bondi must be removed from office, disbarred, fully investigated, and held accountable.
