Trump Erupts After Polls Show Plummeting Approval Ratings, Calls Them "Rigged"
Donald Trump lashed out in a furious tirade after both The New York Times and The Washington Post published new polls showing his approval ratings sinking to embarrassing lows. In a Truth Social post, the former president slammed the results as “rigged” and “corrupt as hell,” despite offering no evidence to back up his claims.
Trump, seemingly incapable of accepting criticism, once again insisted the American people love him—despite overwhelming data showing growing dissatisfaction with his leadership and policies.
“The Failing New York Times and the Washington ComPost, two ‘papers’ that have ruthlessly fought me for years, have each done Polls where a vast majority of those sampled are Democrats,” he ranted.
In typical fashion, Trump offered no data to support his accusations, relying instead on inflammatory rhetoric to rile up his followers.
“In other words, the Polls, just like their writings, are RIGGED—it is not possible for a Republican to do well in such a Poll! They are ‘corrupt as hell,’” he wrote.
He then made a bizarre and baseless claim: “The real Polls out there have me doing better than ever before, JUST LIKE ELECTION DAY, 2024, where I WON seven out of seven Swing States, the Popular Vote, and Districts by 2,750 to 505.”
“I won the Election in a landslide! The Fake News Media is Failing Our Nation at levels never seen before. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.
Of course, Trump did not cite which "real polls" supposedly show him thriving—because none exist. In reality, public opinion has turned sharply against him in response to his increasingly authoritarian proposals, reckless economic policies, and global embarrassments. His plan for mass deportations, widely condemned as unconstitutional and inhumane, has only further alienated voters.
According to The New York Times polling average, Trump’s current approval rating stands at just 46%, with 50% disapproving. Meanwhile, The Washington Post ran a headline on April 27th titled "Trump approval sinks as Americans criticize his major policies, poll finds." That article cited a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll showing only 39% of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing, while 55% disapprove—44% of them “strongly.”
The numbers speak for themselves. No matter how loudly Trump screams about “rigged polls” and imaginary victories, the American people are watching—and rejecting—his failed leadership.
