Donald Trump sends 3-word warning to Russia in WW3 nuclear threat

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a direct warning to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, escalating tensions between Washington and Moscow as diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine continue to falter.

The clash began when Medvedev, who now serves as deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, responded sharply to Trump’s recent ceasefire deadline for Russia. Medvedev accused Trump of issuing ultimatums and warned that such moves would be viewed as “a threat” and potentially “a step toward war.” He also urged Trump not to “go down the Sleepy Joe road,” referencing President Biden.

Trump wasted no time in firing back. In a post on Truth Social, he wrote:

"Tell Medvedev, the failed former President of Russia, who thinks he's still President, to watch his words. He's entering very dangerous territory."

This fiery exchange follows Trump’s announcement in Scotland during a meeting with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer that he would shorten his previously set 50-day deadline for Russia to agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine. Trump declared that the new timeline would be reduced to 10 to 12 days, citing repeated failed negotiations with President Putin.

Though Trump campaigned on the claim that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine had he been in office, his administration’s attempts at brokering a ceasefire have so far seen little success. He recently acknowledged Putin's refusal to engage reasonably in peace talks, signaling a shift to a tougher tone.

Trump's post also targeted India, shortly after threatening to impose a 25% tariff on Indian imports and levies on countries continuing to buy Russian oil — a move aimed at cutting off key financial channels sustaining Moscow’s war machine.

He wrote:

“I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care. We’ve done very little business with India — their tariffs are too high, among the highest in the world. Likewise, Russia and the USA do almost no business together. Let’s keep it that way.”

“And tell Medvedev... to watch his words. He’s entering very dangerous territory.”

India’s government has responded by launching a review into the impact of Trump’s proposed tariffs, as officials from both nations scramble to continue negotiations before the levies go into effect.

As U.S.-Russia relations deteriorate and international pressure builds, observers are now closely watching for how the Kremlin will respond to Trump’s intensified rhetoric — and whether any progress toward a ceasefire in Ukraine is even possible in the tightening window.
