Tensions between Washington and Moscow appear to be intensifying, as former President Donald Trump expresses growing frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Trump, who previously gave Putin a 50-day deadline to agree to a ceasefire or face crippling new sanctions, has since slashed that window to just 10–12 days. His move comes after repeated failed attempts to negotiate peace, which he described as having broken down "too many times."
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio backed the tougher stance, noting that Trump is "losing patience" as Russia continues to carry out drone and missile attacks across Ukraine.
The rhetoric has not gone unnoticed in Moscow. In response, Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent state media figure and loyalist to Putin, delivered a fiery warning on Russian television. Speaking during his program Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov, he lashed out at U.S. officials and dismissed their threats as empty — while issuing a stark reminder of Russia’s nuclear capabilities.
"When I hear people like Rubio and Trump talk about running out of patience or using force, I’ll tell you whose patience is running out — ours," Solovyov said, adding, “We’re not playing games. If the West continues to provoke, there will be a strike in line with our military doctrine — and it will be devastating.”
The warning followed remarks by U.S. General Christopher Donahue, who suggested NATO forces could rapidly neutralize Russia’s Kaliningrad region if Moscow attacked any NATO member state.
Solovyov claimed Russia has held back in Ukraine, stating the Kremlin has "yet to unleash its full military power," and insisting that more advanced weapons remain in reserve. “Russia’s military is among the strongest in the world, capable of responding in the air, on land, and at sea,” he said, emphasizing Russia's naval strength and nuclear arsenal.
Russia currently holds the largest confirmed stockpile of nuclear weapons globally, with over 5,500 warheads, slightly ahead of the United States.
Solovyov has previously made provocative remarks about potential nuclear conflict, once going so far as to threaten the U.S. with a "nuclear tsunami" that would "blow the country to hell" — rhetoric that has alarmed Western observers and fueled concerns about escalating tensions.
While Trump’s new deadline underscores his push for a swift resolution, the aggressive posture from Russian media figures like Solovyov suggests that any hope for a near-term ceasefire may be fading.

Russia and bag of scum pukin will burn in hell for an eternity.
ReplyDeleteI have never been so ashamed of the American people as i am now. To let a traitor and a criminal preside over your country is bad enough, then for this traitorous person to almost copy what Hitler and Putin did to other countries, attack and destroy with no declaration of war as his role model, totally disgusts me. I fought for peace and freedom for the world. Not for this fake tanned imbecile to try to undo everything that my dead comrades and I fought for. America your president shames us all.
