Fox News accused of trying to conceal Donald Trump's illness with sneaky move

Why are Fox News viewers accusing the network of hiding Donald Trump’s hand bruises?

Fox News has come under fire from some viewers who believe the network deliberately downplayed questions surrounding President Donald Trump’s health.

During an Oval Office press conference on August 26, Trump addressed major topics including National Guard deployment and the Gaza conflict. However, many viewers noticed that a large bruise on the back of his right hand was not shown clearly on Fox News’ live broadcast. A breaking news banner conveniently covered the lower half of the screen where Trump’s hand rested, prompting speculation that the network was attempting to conceal it.

Photos from later in the day showed a significant bruise covering much of Trump’s right hand. On social media, critics accused Fox News of double standards, pointing out that when President Joe Biden was in office, Fox gave heavy coverage to even minor health concerns.

One user wrote:

“Fox News making sure you can’t see Trump’s hand today. But it WAS captured & it is badly bruised. The American people deserve to know the status of his health.”

Another added:

“If Biden had a huge bruise on his hand, Fox would run it nonstop. Meanwhile Trump has massive bruising and they’re silent. Hypocrisy at its finest.”

A third user claimed Trump appeared to have bruises on both hands, fueling further speculation.

The White House, however, has dismissed concerns. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that the bruising is a “benign side effect” of Trump’s long-term aspirin therapy combined with frequent handshaking. She emphasized that it was not a serious medical issue.

Leavitt also revealed last month that the president had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a circulatory condition affecting blood flow in the limbs. When pressed on whether Trump’s physician would provide more detailed information, Leavitt suggested that the administration is open to additional transparency, stressing:

“You see the President every day — he’s moving, he’s working, and there have been no changes to his lifestyle.”

For now, the debate continues between those who view the bruises as a health red flag and those who see it as a routine, non-threatening side effect.
