Fox News halts show for breaking Epstein alert and it looks like a big win for Trump

Fox News interrupted its regular Sunday programming to air breaking coverage on the ongoing controversy surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein files. The network featured Rep. Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee’s 2nd congressional district, who shared his perspective on why transparency around these files is critical.

The discussion centered on whether former President Donald Trump should authorize the release of the Epstein files, especially as lawmakers prepare to review the first batch of documents. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) confirmed that the Justice Department is scheduled to hand over the files beginning Friday, August 22.

During the interview, Burchett explained his concerns:

“If Trump’s name had been tied to anything damaging in these files, the Biden administration would have released it long ago. They’ve had them for four years. I don’t trust that the documents haven’t been altered or withheld.”

He added that Trump distanced himself from Epstein years ago, even banning him from Mar-a-Lago. Burchett also argued that delaying the release of information only fuels public distrust and potential corruption.

Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding Epstein in recruiting and grooming victims, was recently interviewed by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. In a transcript of her remarks, Maxwell stated that she never witnessed Trump behave inappropriately:

“The President was never inappropriate with anybody. In all my interactions with him, he was a gentleman.”

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. He has not been accused of any crime related to the case, nor has he been identified as a subject of investigation.

With lawmakers pressing for transparency and the public demanding answers, the release of the Epstein files is expected to reignite debate over political accountability, high-profile connections, and the unanswered questions surrounding Epstein’s network.
