Hot Mic Catches GOP Congressman Saying Donald Trump’s Name Is in Epstein Files

Did a hot mic just confirm Donald Trump’s name is in the Jeffrey Epstein files?

A political firestorm has erupted after a viral audio clip captured MAGA Congressman Mike Collins suggesting that Donald Trump’s name appears in the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The recording, uploaded to YouTube under the title “HOT MIC: Republican caught saying Trump IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES!”, comes from a local GOP meeting. In it, a constituent directly asks Collins whether Trump is in the files. Collins responds:

“Yeah, I’m sure he’s in there. Because he’s the one who was telling the FBI about it. He’s the one that kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago and then called the FBI.”

That claim, however, doesn’t match the historical record. Trump did not call the FBI on Epstein, and the story that he “kicked Epstein out” has been repeatedly debunked. Trump himself admitted years later that their falling out wasn’t about morals or law enforcement — it was about Epstein “stealing” staff from Mar-a-Lago, including Virginia Giuffre, who would later become one of Epstein’s most prominent accusers.

Further complicating the narrative, the book The Grifter’s Club: Trump, Mar-a-Lago, and the Selling of the Presidency — authored by Miami Herald journalists — revealed that Epstein remained on Mar-a-Lago’s membership rolls as late as 2007. That was years after his alleged “ban” and over a year after he had already been indicted.

When pressed about whether the files should be released, Collins replied:

“Oh, we need to release them. I have no problem releasing them but, you know, you’ve got to get them through the judicial [process] … I’m not a lawyer.”

After the hot mic moment spread online, Collins’s campaign scrambled to contain the fallout, telling reporters that his “words speak for themselves” and doubling down on the familiar MAGA defense that Trump “did nothing wrong.”

Still, this clip has reignited public interest in the Epstein scandal. Critics argue that if Trump is truly innocent, releasing the unredacted files would be the fastest way to clear his name. Instead, his team continues to dismiss the controversy as a hoax — even as new details suggest a much deeper relationship than they acknowledge.

For many Americans, the question remains: if there’s nothing to hide, why not let the truth come out?
