Hunter Biden Reacts to Melania Trump's $1B Epstein Defamation Threat

Hunter Biden has brushed off a $1 billion defamation threat from Melania Trump’s lawyers over comments he made linking the former first lady to Jeffrey Epstein. Despite a formal demand for a retraction and apology, Biden refused, saying he stood by his statements.

The controversy began after Biden claimed in a YouTube interview that Epstein introduced Melania Trump to Donald Trump. Her legal team immediately fired back, calling the claim “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory.” They insisted the real story is the one the Trumps have told for years: that they first met at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998, introduced by modeling agent Paolo Zampolli.

Melania’s attorneys, led by Alejandro Brito, sent a cease-and-desist letter demanding Biden retract his comments by August 7 or face a billion-dollar lawsuit. Instead of complying, Biden doubled down in another interview with Channel 5, saying:

“F*** that. That’s not going to happen. What I said is what I’ve heard and seen reported and written, primarily from Michael Wolff.”

Biden cited multiple media reports, including articles from The New York Times and excerpts in Vanity Fair, as well as Wolff’s interviews with Epstein, claiming that this narrative has been circulating since at least 2019.

Melania’s team insists the statements are baseless and damaging, warning that their wide circulation across digital media has caused “overwhelming financial and reputational harm.”

The dispute highlights ongoing questions about Donald Trump’s past ties to Epstein and reignites scrutiny over how much of this history remains unresolved. If Melania follows through with the lawsuit, it could become a high-profile test of defamation law involving public figures.
