Leaked Report Claims Donald Trump Is Planning to Send the National Guard Into Chicago

A shocking leak has revealed that former President Donald Trump has been quietly planning for weeks to deploy the National Guard into Chicago, as part of what critics are calling his expanding authoritarian crackdown.

According to two officials who spoke with CNN, Trump’s recent warning that Chicago could be “next” after Washington D.C. was not just political bluster. Behind the scenes, he has been considering ways to extend his so-called “anti-crime” measures and harsh anti-immigration enforcement to other major cities.

But here’s the truth: experts note that Trump’s narrative of a massive crime wave is misleading. In fact, Washington D.C. recently reached a 30-year low in violent crime. This move looks far less about safety and more about seizing power, distracting from scandals, and trying to project strength.

Chicago Leaders Push Back

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson strongly condemned the idea, calling it both “unlawful” and “uncalled for.” He warned that if Trump proceeds, the city is prepared to take legal action:

“The people of this city are accustomed to rising up against tyranny. What he is proposing would be the most flagrant violation of our Constitution in the 21st century. Chicago does not need a military occupation we need investment in people and communities.”

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker also weighed in, saying:

“The safety of the people of Illinois is always my top priority. There is no emergency that justifies federalizing the Illinois National Guard or sending active-duty troops into our borders.”

Why This Matters

Critics argue this is not about public safety it’s about abuse of presidential power. Trump has long been accused of using fear and division to maintain political control. Flooding American cities with armed soldiers and military vehicles doesn’t solve crime it escalates tensions and undermines democracy.

The larger concern? If such actions become normalized, future presidents could feel emboldened to use the military against their own citizens whenever it suits them politically.
