Did a Russian TV Host Claim That Donald Trump Wants Russia to Win in Ukraine?
Yes. Russian state TV host Roman Babayan recently suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump is “more interested than anyone in Russia’s victory” over Ukraine. Babayan made the comments on the talk show Your Own Truth, where he argued that Trump’s political and financial future could benefit if Moscow succeeds in the war.
According to Babayan, Trump could frame a Russian victory as part of his involvement in ending the conflict, which, in his view, might even help Trump earn a Nobel Peace Prize. He further claimed that Trump would gain access to lucrative business opportunities in Russia through joint economic projects.
Babayan, who has been described by European governments as a Kremlin propagandist, alleged that Trump has avoided taking harsher measures against Russia to give Moscow “more time” in Ukraine. He pointed to Trump’s shifting timelines on peace negotiations as evidence, suggesting the U.S. president is deliberately extending deadlines to Russia’s advantage.
His commentary ended with the claim that Trump’s ultimate motivation is financial gain:
“Trump needs money… Huge horizons open up. It benefits him from every side.”
The remarks came shortly after Trump told reporters that Russia and Ukraine may “have to fight a little longer” before peace talks can realistically begin.
Despite his campaign promise to end the war in just one day, Trump has so far failed to secure an agreement during his second term.
That has been obvious for any rational thinking human being
